These are lectures from the 16th International Leeds Cardiac MR Course. They may be used as examples of what to expect at future courses, although no guarantee can be made that every element listed here will be included. Lectures take place in the mornings. On four of the five afternoons practical sessions take place in smaller groups on

  • Scanning (using one Siemens scanner, two Philips scanners and a GE scanner): basics on normal volunteers / clinical cases
  • Film viewing with consultant cardio-radiologist: normal anatomy / basic pathology / clinical cases
  • Post processing software demonstration and practice: ventricular volume, mass and flow
  • Tutorials:
                Basic Principles of MR and Techniques Q+A
                Basic Parameter Tutorial: Pulse Sequences / Images
                Post Processing / MR Physics Clinics

Delegates in small groups rotate through the various activities on each afternoon. (I.e. all delegates observe practical scanning sessions, and film viewing, and post processing or tutorials, every day.)

On one evening a complimentary course dinner is provided for delegates at an interesting location. At the tenth course this took place at the Thackray Medical Museum, which was opened exclusively for delegates before the meal. Other venues have included the Linton Springs Hotel and Temple Newsam House. Similar venues will be chosen for future dinners. Lunch is provided every day.
