The Leeds International Cardiac Course is an acclaimed 5-day course with hands-on scanning on high-field Philips, Siemens and GE scanners with clinical case reporting, MR physics tutorials and image analysis training.

Learning Outcomes: the course offers an overview of CMR techniques and practical applications, that will provide the delegate with the information to perform and report basic Cardiac MR cases.

Target Professions: the International Leeds Cardiac MR Course is intended for Cardiologists, Radiologists, Technologists and Physicists involved in the field of Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging. The course has been approved by the Royal College of Radiologists for 30 Category I CME credits.

Course Aims: to further develop knowledge of the theoretical principles and the practical applications of Cardiac MRI, focusing in particular on:

  • Cardiac MR Illustrated Anatomy, Morphokinetics & Pathology
  • Basic Cardiac Imaging Techniques including Flow and LV & RV function
  • Advanced Cardiac Imaging Techniques including Perfusion, Coronary MRA and Contrast Enhanced MRA
  • Protocol Design
  • Practical Scanning Sessions
  • Image Analysis & Reporting

Teaching Methods: each day of the course is divided into a morning of multimedia lectures followed after lunch by practical tutorial sessions. These tutorials provide experience and observation of:

  • "hands-on" multi-vendor patient based scanning sessions
  • cardiac MR physics & image analysis
  • reporting
